Mindfulness & Medicine

Mindfulness practice can help medical professionals:

  • Cultivate a greater sense of balance, ease and non-reactivity.

  • Manage day-to-day challenges with a greater sense of balance

  • Conserve a sense of meaning in the practice of medicine and research

  • Maintain empathy for patients, coworkers, and oneself in the midst of busyness

  • Communicate more deeply and effectively with patients and coworkers

Mindfulness in medicine helps cultivate the ability to be aware, in the present moment, on purpose, with the intention of providing more skillful care to patients and to oneself. Mindfulness is at the core of clinical competence. This course will provide physicians, clinicians, and researchers the skills and tools to become more mindful during personal and professional life.

Mindfulness classes for medical professionals are provided in association with a hospital or medical group.  You can arrange for an 8-week course for your hospital or physicians' group by
emailing or calling Micki Fine at 713.702.6845.  CMEs can be arranged for your group by Mindful Living.
