“The bud stands for all things, even for those things that don’t flower, for everything flowers, from within, of self-blessing;
though sometimes it is necessary to reteach a thing its loveliness, to put a hand on its brow of the flower and retell it in words and in touchit is lovely until it flowers again from within, of self-blessing”
~ Galway Kinnell
Loving-kindness means great and boundless friendliness. Loving-kindness meditation is likened to watering seeds in a garden, in this case, the seeds of loving-kindness. It is practiced by offering blessings and well-wishes to yourself and then others. When you water the seeds of loving-kindness that are already inside you, you encourage your inner loveliness to grow and blossom. As you open to your true nature of love, you can accept yourself exactly as you are, imperfections and all. This allows you more genuinely to open to the inner loveliness of others and accept them too.
