Developing Equanimity 

​Equanimity is the ability to be calm, composed, and steady in the face of all that arises in life. Through mindfulness and equanimity meditations we will incline ourselves toward being like deeply rooted trees with flexible branches: able to weather the storms of life without being uprooted or snapped in two. These qualities provide us with the stability to make wise, conscious choices instead of reacting reflexively. In this class we will explore what equanimity is and isn’t, the effects of equanimity and how to develop it in our lives more deeply. The class will expand on the workshop offered through the Jung Center. The Jung Center workshop is not a prerequisite. 

Micki Fine, M.Ed., L.P.C., founder of Mindful Living and pioneer of mindfulness in Houston, Texas, will conduct this highly participatory and practical class. 

In this 4 week course participants can expect:

  • General teaching and discussion of the equanimity and mindfulness,
  • Guided instruction in, and practice and discussion of several equanimity & mindfulness meditations
  • Group dialogue and discussions aimed at enhancing awareness in everyday life,
  • Weekly emailed assignments
  • Downloadable mindfulness meditation MP3s

  • May 6th, 2017 and 
  • May 13th, 2017

Cost for this 4 week/1.5 hour class is $250.
