Day of Mindfulness

 

A day-long retreat

This mini retreat is open and appropriate for beginners and veteran meditators alike.  

We will experience mindfulness sitting, walking, and loving-kindness meditations, as well as mindful yoga. The meditations will have enough guidance to allow people of all levels of meditation practice to attend. 

This retreat will be held in silence, allowing one to develop concentration and insight. While there are many benefits of silence and extended practice, it can bring us into contact with the sharper edges of our experience.  If you are in the midst of deep emotional difficulties such as post-traumatic stress, untreated addiction or major depression I encourage you to attend a day of mindfulness retreat after you have resolved some of the difficult issues. If you would like to discuss whether it is appropriate to attend this retreat, please contact us. We are happy to help you decide. The cost for this day-long retreat is $85.00 unless you are a participant in the current Mindfulness Meditation course (8-week MBSR) - in that case it's free!

All training, courses, retreats are conducted by Micki Fine M.Ed., L.P.C., founder of Mindful Living and pioneer of mindfulness in Houston, TX since 1994. Micki is a certified mindfulness instructor (certification from the Center for Mindfulness - University of Massachusetts Medical School) and has been licensed professional counselor since 1990.
