Each session is intended to stand alone.

The meditations will have enough guidance to allow people of all levels of meditation practice to attend.

Graduate Course
Wednesdays evenings in August
Dates: 8/4, 8/11, 8/18 and 8/25

Time: 6 - 8pm
Cost: $225

In our graduate course we will refine and deepen mindfulness through periods of mindfulness meditation and exploring the practice of holding our emotions with a caring attention so we can learn and grow. Typically we struggle to change our emotional states by pushing away what we don't want and grasping for what we would like thus causing further suffering. We will explore these reactions, our beliefs about emotions, and cultivate befriending them in the midst of our ever-changing experience.

Mindfulness Ethics Workshop

Friday, August 20th, 2010 - 10 a.m. - 4 pm
Cost:$90 ($80 Jung Center members) 4.5 CE hours

Come explore mindfulness practice and learn how it can guide us to perform competently and ethically. Mindfulness, the intentional cultivation of open-hearted, present-moment awareness, can help us to awaken from our habitual mind states that prevent us from handling ethical situations clearly and acting skillfully. Ethical practice by mental health professionals requires self care in order to avoid burn-out and compassion fatigue. We will shine the light of mindfulness on issues such as self-care and critical thinking. This workshop offers a day of instruction, practice, and discussion which can help us to be more aware and compassionate as we make ethical decisions.

8-week Mindfulness Meditation Course

There is a day-long silent retreat in the sixth week of the class to help participants deepen their meditation practice.
