Mindfulness Meditation CourseOur eight-week Mindfulness-based meditation course is modeled after the world renowned Stress Reduction and Relaxation Program founded by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979 at University of Massachusetts Medical Center (UMMC). To register for the next Mindfulness Meditation course, please click here. Mindfulness meditation courses are held in Houston, Texas and consist of 8 weekly sessions, each lasting 2 1/2 hours. In addition to practicing mindfulness meditation, the class provides support for participants in fostering a daily meditation practice, and discussion about how to integrate mindfulness into various aspects of every-day life. Mindfulness is best understood through its practice. To benefit, participants are asked to commit themselves to practice mindfulness meditation from 45 to 60 minutes per day. Participants are coached to work with this commitment with gentleness and patience. In addition to the 8 classes there is a day-long silent retreat in the sixth week of the class to help participants deepen their meditation practice. To
